Why “Udyam Aadhaar” causes confusion

Websites that say “enter Aadhaar to download your Udyam certificate” are private forms. They collect your Aadhaar and then do the same OTP process on the government portal — often for a fee. Avoid sharing your Aadhaar and OTP with them.
Udyam certificate download by Aadhaar number: the method that works

Find the mobile or email you registered with
If you filled your Aadhaar-linked mobile in the Udyam form, use that. Otherwise search your SMS and email for “Udyam” to see which number or email received the registration confirmation.
Recover the Udyam number
On udyamregistration.gov.in go to Print / Verify → Forgot Udyam/UAM No., choose Udyam Registration, pick Mobile or Email, enter it and verify the OTP. Your Udyam number appears on screen.
Open Print Udyam Certificate
Go to Print / Verify → Print Udyam Certificate and enter the recovered Udyam number and the same mobile.
Verify OTP and download
Validate the OTP, click Print or Print with Annexure and save as PDF.
Have an old Udyog Aadhaar (UAM) certificate?
If your document says “Udyog Aadhaar” and the number starts with a state code like MH12A0001234 (no “UDYAM” prefix), it is the old UAM. The portal still has Print UAM Certificate, but a UAM is no longer accepted as MSME proof. Move it to Udyam first: migrate Udyog Aadhaar to Udyam.

One Aadhaar, one Udyam registration
A person can hold only one Udyam registration; extra activities or units are added to that same registration.
